Weaving Ancient Threads into Modern Frames

Visual media content is a popular medium in the modern social media era. Livesanskrit incorporates Sanskrit language in various forms such as films, short films, documentaries, shorts reels, and educational tutorial videos.

Livesanskrit has made excellent contributions in various fields in the production of Sanskrit films such as "Anurakti" directed by P K Ashok under the banner of Happy tunes Productions and "Namo" directed by Vijesh Mani under the banner of Anugraha Cinemas starring Sri Padma Shri Jayaram.

The Live Sanskrit team has made a documentary for the Guruvayur campus of the Central Sanskrit University, a short film based on Mathur - Sanskrit Village and short videos on various topics.  A Sanskrit documentary titled "Chalachitrakulapati G.V. Iyer" is being produced in collaboration with renowned cinematographer Shri Madhu Ambat. Several projects are in various stages of production. Namo

NAMO Film Synopsis

One girl approaches her grandfather to clear her doubt in sanskrit lesson. The sentence in which her doubt is 'nyayena margena maheem maheesah'. This is a part from the manthra 'Swasthi prajabhyaam paripaalayanthaam... '. That experienced and scholar grandfather tells her the story of Sudama and Krishna and clear her doubt. By telling this story the movie is going on. Krishna the king of dwaraka married Rukmini because she had loved Krishna very much. At the same time Sisupala the king of chedi rajya. So he believed that he is cheated by Krishna. Krishna wouldn't be praised in his country by any one. It would be considered as anti national. So Sudama, the friend of Krishna he who resides in chedi rajya became rejected by the society. After all Sudama's school (gurukula) is abandoned by the students. He becomes very poor to give food to his family members. For this Sudama went to Sradhapinda as sapindi (who eats food for the death man). It is very pathetic condition for a brahmin. Virtuous person like Sudama is not ready to leave the County too. He is in a dilemma. After seeing the grief of his wife and children he decided to go Dwaraka to meet his friend. He wish to help his country from this bad ruling. After Sudama reached dwaraka Krishna killed Sisupala and protected the country because the bad ruler Sisupala put his personal enmity not to Krishna but to his own people. As a friend Krishna treated his friend Sudama very nicely. By telling this story the grandfather cleared the girl's doubt. The good rule become selfless and should lead his people through the right way.

Anurakthi

 Film Synopsis

Anurakthi is a Sanskrit movie which was produced in Kerala, India. The movie revolves around the traditional Indian art form, Koodiyattom. It is the first ever Sanskrit film which includes a song. The song sequence was shot using 3D technology, which makes this movie the first 3D Sanskrit film. The film was screened at the 48th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa in 2017. Additionally, it won the special jury award in the category of best regional film at the 5th Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF), Jaipur in 2018.
